Crossdresser Found Dead on Abuja Road; Police Launch Investigation

The Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, Bennett Igweh, has mandated an investigation into the death of an unidentified individual found dressed in women’s clothing.

According to a statement from command spokesperson Josephine Adeh, the police attention was drawn through a via a distress call about a deceased person discovered along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway. Detectives were swiftly dispatched to the scene.

Preliminary findings by the investigators revealed that the individual was a man in female attire and lacked any form of identification. The body was transported to Maitama District Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Adeh reported, "On 08/08/2024 at approximately 07:40 AM, the Command Control Room received a distress call about an unidentified person found lying motionless along the Katampe-Mabushi Expressway. Detectives were immediately deployed to the location."

Further inquiries revealed that the deceased was a man dressed in women’s clothing with no ID on him. He was taken to Maitama District Hospital, where he was confirmed dead. In response, Commissioner Igweh has directed a confidential inquiry to determine the circumstances surrounding the individual’s death.
